KATHERINE WELLAND
Katherine Welland has always been interested in Martial Arts. As a child she did Kyshindo Karate. This is a mixture of Karate, Judo and Self-defence. Gained a Green belt one stripe.
She started Tai Chi in 1994 with the Chinese Internal Arts Association. Katherine became an assistant instructor at her main class (Reading, Berkshire) in 1996 under the watchful eye of Karel and Eva Koskuba (Chief Instructor and Instructor of Chinese Internal Arts Association).
Katherine started teaching on her own at Reading Adult College. Where she taught for several years, and has also taught in various leisure centres.
She has completed a three year advanced course on Tai Chi.
Katherine has attended seminars with
Master Du Xianming (Beijing) when he came to crowthorne (Berkshire)
Grand Master Chen Xiaowang (Head and heir of the Chen School)
Chen Yingjun (Son of Grand master Chen).
Katherine still studies by regularly attending seminars run by the Chinese Internal Arts Association and has private lessons, with Karel and Eva Koskuba to maintain a high standard of teaching.
Katherine has undertaken many public demonstrations. Showing the Form
(A series of slow movements).
She runs special armchair exercises for the elderly, and regular classes in Berkshire and Hampshire.
My inspiration and knowlege must go to Karel and Eva who always believed in me and been there for me.
My heartfelt thanks and gratitude.
